Dexpanthenol acid, as the main effective agent in PantheDerm® spray, turns in skin cells into panthothenic acid (vitamin B5). Both agents have beneficial effects on the skin and are necessary for a good function of the surface skin and mucosal cells. In addition they support hydration of the skin and its regeneration, production of collagen and elastin fibres, and keep our complexion elastic and healthy. They also support the healing of the skin and mucosa, as they have anti-inflammatory effects and strengthen the natural therapeutics. Dexpanthenol is more convenient for dermatological and cosmetic applications, as it absorbs better into the deep layers of complexion than panthothenic acid, which later originates from dexpanthenol in the cells. Dexpanthenol has beneficial effects on damaged and burnt skin, e.g. by solar or another type of radiation, and in addition dexpanthenol supports the granulation, epithelialisation and healing of minor skin injuries.
